I like the Yamaha series consoles. Especially the M7CL, the touch screen is awesome. Not sure how I feel about the central logic system. But I love the Studio Manager program. I did a sound check on time wirelessly from a laptop.
Midas XL4.... because it's analog and sounds great... If I must, I'm sure there's gotta be one coming out that can be more intuitive, and be able to do more than 1 thing at a time. For me the vibe is gone if I have to pre think all my moves.
I agree with the pre thinking your moves on a digital console. XL4 good choice. Midas is always a great choice. I like Analog too. I'm using analog gear at my current gig. But it would be nice to have a digital console because I work in a theater and recalling a mainstage show or rep show would be so much easier on a digital board rather then an analog board
I really enjoy using the Digidesign Venue Profile. Very well laid out console, solid, small footprint, intuitive software, great computer interface. It's just a great sounding and looking board inside and out.
I love all the new digital stuff ..........I like the XL8 and the D5 and love all the Digidesign stuff.I like the Yamaha M7CL and LS9 for doing small stuff. I say if you can program a EFX Prosesser you can run a Digital Console cause it is all about Parameters. I like say no matter what, if you don't use your ears and mix your show, Then it doesn't matter what you use.
I've never gotten a chance to use a Venue yet. I've had an FOH guy show me some of the functions/features...I like it...However I would love to actually mix a show on it
