Need some suggestions on where to get some good tools for setups and so forth.

I need some tools for some guitar work. I am doing neck adjustments, re-string, nut repair, pickup and pot install, cleaning and lube gears and joints, and other minor repairs on electric and acoustic guitars and basses. I need a suggestion on a good website or a list of them to order some tools I don't have or havent thaught about getting. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks, Nate

That's the one stop shop. Their stuff is not cheap but it is really good and specifically designed for the guitar. Other things you can find in the hardware store: ACE, Home Depot, Loews. Also try Harbour Freight tools. Their prices are super low but I've never purchased from there. Not sure if it is quality stuff but never hurts to try. They also have a website.

Thanks for posting stewmac Kevin. I mainly just play guitar, but that is a great resource for research and comparison! Ya, Harbor Fright is good for select tools, just be careful Nathan. I like buying some things cheap so if they walk away, no sweat but in the same token, if you use something a lot good quality will go farther. It like the chicken and the egg. For instance, I've broken an expensive gerber muti without even trying, but have had a cheap mini screwdriver set and tape measure and other little odds and ends have been more than worth their value, and with constant abuse. For adjusting truss rods, auto part stores have long single allen keys with handles, and dollar stores have the equivalent of gorgamyte wipes for a 1/32th of the price if you're not against using lemon oil to clean fretboards.

Trust me I know how tools can break and magicaly dissapear. I have a whole set of allen keys and all the tools I need for a basic set-up, elecronics replacement and installation, I just need C clamps, freeting tools, levelers, glues, and so forth. I thank you for the suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
