I have a background in Lighting and have really been wanting to learn more about SFX since I have some experience using Haze, Fog, Snow Blowers, etc. I am an admitted Pyromaniac (don't worry I know how to work with it and be safe with it) and have worked as a stagehand/set builder, run crew and as a ground and mounted squire for a full contact jousting troupe so I'm no stranger to pain. I'm wanting to find a company or contact that can teach me more about using Lasers, Flash Pots and larger scale Pyrotechnics and SFX. If anybody has any leads or info for the Philly, DC or Baltimore areas I would greatly appreciate it.

Are there any good pyro companies in South Florida? I want to learn how to make the pyro. Im french so im a great cook (can follow recipes) and im a rigger so i dont mind potentially maiming myself on a daily basis (although i would like to learn how to NOT blow myself up, thank you!)

Are there any companies i can learn from down here?

Where do you start for learning Pyrotechnics. Then how do you go about getting your license.
