Well put and Bollocks indeed Marty! You do whatcha gotta do to survive no matter how much we despise it. I was going around applying at retail stores and what not just to get a paycheck but even those places weren't getting back to me. I had to re...
Thanks Chris, it's much appreciated. It's kinda hard to stay optimistic given how tough everything is but I know what I want and I won't stop until I achieve it. I also know and have been around just long enough to know that it's going to take a g...
Dude that absolutely sucks for you both. I'm in the process of moving into basically the ghettos of philly because I was about to be evicted from my place too, I got lucky and found a landlord that's letting me live dirt cheap in exchange for work...
nuthin' exciting going on right now down here. Working on a theatre show right now but nothing concert wise. Wish I was. Still wanting to get certified as a fly rigger but just miss working on concerts in general
Definitely not working Bonarue and I hear ya on the starving and door pounding part. The stuff I've got is the first work I've had in months. I had to resort to selling things just to get the bills paid for the time being. I'm just lucky that my l...
Well thanks Sandy, I certainly hope you get something soon. I'm not sure how things are over in Europe right now, it's been a nightmare finding work over here in the states, especially for me since I'm still a beginning designer and programmer. I'...

Comments About Me:
I've done mainly theatrical lighting and crew positions since I was roughly 10 years old. One of my tech friends from middle school got me into doing Lighting for Special Events after I obtained my Bachelors degree. Through working logistical planning for Katsucon Anime Convention I met my previous employer who taught me how to operate moving light consoles and basically assimilated me into his lighting crew for various conventions and eventually gave me a job and gave me a world of exposure and training doing theatrical, live concert and club/rave lighting. During roughly the year I worked for him he basically helped me figure out that what I really wanted to do as my career. It was through working all of the concerts that I've done and meeting all of the various Lighting Designers and Road Crew that I realized that this would be another great way to get more experience and to satisfy my urge to travel around and experience as many places and people as I possibly can as well as help me realize a part of my dream.
Experience is the worst teacher. It gives you the test first and instructions after.
Anybody that says a woman doesn't belong doing tech for a living has obviously never seen a real one work
Somewhere for the very few Irish techs on roadiejobs.com to get together and have a bit of craic and drink Guiness before going back to our straw houses..... Hmm, we will let them keep thinking that!
