I had the XL8 at Royal Albert Hall last week, what a great desk. I have used every digital desk out there, the XL8 and it's smaller counter part the Pro 6 are by far the closest to analog sound you will find.
I kind of prefer the Digidesign Venue system! The software is simple, but powerful. The stock plugs sound good and leave for plenty of expansion with other plugs. Great for keeping the rack size at FOH down especially for bands with alot of inputs...

I have worked mostly in theater. Some shows/tours I have done are: The National tour of Rent, The Taffetas(Tour, Producer: Springer Theatricals, Columbus, GA), Some Enchanted Evening(Tour, Producer Springer Theatricals), The Ogunquit Playhouse in Ogunquit, Maine. Shows mixed include: Hairspray, The Full Monty, The King and I, Crazy For You, Fiddler On The Roof, Forbidden Broadway, and LaCage Aux Folles. Off Broadway theater: Women's Project @ The Julia Miles Theater: Sound Engineer for the show Crooked.

Gadsden Riverfest 05 - 06- 07. Some bands that played include: 38 Special, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lifehouse, SHeDaisy, Joe Nichols. Also it is important to note that I was working with a production company at the time Mitchell Group, out of Nashville.
